As a family physician, it is an honor to be involved in the lives of my patients and their families. I enjoy developing relationships with my patients so that I can understand their health care concerns. I realize that everyone has a different background which could affect their health in a positive or in a negative way, so I like to take my time with patients and really listen to their concerns as well as what is going on in their lives. Through the visits, I strive to offer up to date advice and options for care. I feel that lifestyle is important in improving a person’s health but realize that sometimes a patient is not ready to make a change that may benefit their health and may need to talk about something several times before taking that first step. My goal is to be patient and support them in each step of their health journey.
International medicine is something for which I’ve always had a heart. I love experiencing new places and cultures and have been lucky enough to have been a part of patient care in six countries outside of the US throughout my career. Through some of these experiences and through practicing in the US for about twenty years, I have come to realize that the traditional US model does not always provide the best access to healthcare for a patient. I love that at Pure Family Medicine I am able to provide my patients with better access to care. I think that talking through medical problems with a physician that knows you and your background and that you can get in to see for acute visits is the ideal care model. Most of my free time is spent with my husband and children.
Outside of medicine I enjoy hiking with my golden retriever, paddleboarding, skiing, camping, and just enjoying the sunshine.
